General consultations and minor procedures can be performed in the field including:

REGISTERED GRADE A hospital - INTENSIVE CARE

Our A-grade hospital is able to care for horses with 24/7 supervision. Some of the cases we treat in hospital include:

  • 24/7 intensive care

  • Post surgical care

  • Colic medical management

  • Pleuropneumonia

When your horse needs surgery we are here to help. Dr Tony Drew and our visiting specialist surgeons are able to perform routine and emergency surgical procedures including:

  • Lump removals

  • Cryotherapy and chemotherapy for cancerous growths

  • Arthroscopic joint and tendon sheath surgeries

  • Rig Castrations

  • Exploratory laparotomies (colic surgery)

  • Bladder rupture repair

  • Physeal screw placement for angular limb deformities

REPRODUCTION - mare services

Our advanced reproduction unit has some of the highest pregnancy results in Australia. Our mare services include:

REPRODUCTION - stallion services

We have an artificial dummy located undercover with rubber flooring and fully trained tease mares and experienced stallion handler to ensure safe stallion collections for chilled and/or frozen semen.

Hawkesbury Equine have quarantine services and is one of the few collection centres in Australia registered to collect and freeze semen for NZ and USA.
